Performance, health and well-being

From athletic training to well-being

Over the years, Formula Medicine has matured an enormous wealth of experience, from extreme performance with elite athletes from over twenty sporting disciplines, to programs for general health and physical wellbeing, to the prevention of painful musculoskeletal symptoms.

The advantages of teamwork

Working every day in a modern functional gym and in close contact with doctors, physiotherapists and psychologists, Formula Medicine trainers have a 360° culture that is evident in the details of the training programs they prepare.

Personalization

After the specific tests, medium and long-term objectives are defined, then programs are designed. The trainers’ primary task is to develop efficient and engaging training methods which enable each individual to assume an active role and provide useful feedback on psychophysical sensations.

Cardiofitness

Aerobic training is the foundation of every sport, and wellbeing in general. Formula Medicine’s aerobic training isn’t limited to gym cardio equipment, but also involves circuit sessions aimed at total-body training and outdoor activities such as mountain biking, kayaking, padel, beach volleyball and trail running.

Monitoring

Formula Medicine has technological devices for monitoring psychophysical parameters during training. At headquarters, the gym is fitted with large screens that display live physiological data during cardiovascular workouts.

Strength & conditioning

There are 4 types of strength: absolute, relative, explosive and endurance. Formula Medicine’s athletic trainers are able to evaluate and train each type of strength, according to the individual’s objectives, which can vary from maintenance of good posture to achievement of ideal sports performance.

Neuromuscular coordination

Neuromuscular coordination is the link between physical activity and optimal brain function. It is a fundamental aspect, not only in the pursuit of extreme sports performance, but also for correct management of muscular tension in everyday activities. Based on this knowledge, Formula Medicine always includes personalized neuromuscular coordination exercises in its various programs.

Postural balance

Over time, incorrect posture and movement patterns can bring about physiological adaptations that are a source of pain and discomfort. Formula Medicine’s professionals, after doing a detailed postural analysis, can create a personalized program aimed at full and functional recovery of correct posture.

Psychophysical training

For the Formula Medicine team, body and mind function in inseparable synergy for performance optimization. For this reason, Formula Medicine’s gym programs often include activities designed to stimulate not only the muscles but also mental aspects.

Preventive exercise

Formula Medicine has created programs for the prevention of musculoskeletal pathologies and injuries, so that all can perform to the best of their ability – not only sports, but also everyday activities.

Online training sessions

To be effective, physical training needs to be consistent. To facilitate training for its athletes, Formula Medicine organizes remote training sessions via web platforms. To make the sessions accessible to all, the exercises incorporated are bodyweight exercises or require small items of equipment.

Body composition analysis

Monitoring variations in body composition is essential for assessing the effectiveness of any training program. Formula Medicine’s athletic trainers regularly analyze their clients’ anthropometric data, using both bioelectrical impedance and skin fold measurements, before preparing or updating their personalized programs aimed at achieving the ideal physical condition or wellbeing.
